L Word Recap 505

Tuesday February 5, 2008
The episode begins with a table reading for Lez Girls. I’m sure the writers had fun coming up with this part of the storyline-- poking at themselves and the actors on The L Word.

Tina & Bette

Bette & Tina After that steamy kiss last week, Tina’s been avoiding Bette. But the girls do need to talk. What happened? Did they just kiss? Did they sleep together? Does Jodi know? Bette calls on Tina and you can tell by the look in Tina’s eye that she’s hoping Bette wants to reconcile. Instead Betts is calling to ask advice about stuff with Jodi. What does Tina do? She gives Bette great advice. “Let her speak for herself. Let her fail or succeed all on her own.” Sounds like Tina is talking from experience. Putting Bette in her place. I like this assertive Tina.

Daryl Brewer

Remember last week when Alice took pics of that closeted basketball player? Well now he’s on national TV dissing John Amaechi a gay player who came out. “I wouldn’t want him on my team. I don’t think that’s right,” big homo Daryl Brewer says. “I don’t want any faggots in the locker room looking at me or brushing up against me in the court. I don’t like gay people and I let it be known.”

Of course Alice is pissed when she sees this and decides outing Daryl Brewer on OurChart is the best course of action. Alice posts the video she took on her blog. She’s letting the world know that Daryl is a homo and a hypocrite. The thing goes viral. Next thing you know, Alice is going on news shows. What about Tasha’s case, Alice? How is this going to effect that? And what about that nondisclosure agreement you signed before you went to that closeted Hollywood party? Are you going to get screwed for that? Consequences will unfold in time.

She Bar

Guess what, She Bar is now serving coffee. Even though they told Kit they wouldn’t. Shane drops by and Dawn Denbo’s lover Cindy invites Shane over for something special. But when Shane shows up, Dawn is nowhere to be seen, and Cindy is buck naked, except for sexy high heels.

Shane tries and tires to protest that Dawn is not there. Shane knows it’s against the rules, but she falls prey to Cindy anyway. Ooo, these girls are evil.

There’s Something Fishy about Adelle

We don’t know what it is yet, but something is going on with Adelle. Max caught her in a lie. First she said her dad was a traveling salesman and now she said he’s a fireman. But of course Jenny blows off Max’s concern. Everyone blows off Max. For the last time I am going to ask, why does he hang around with these people who treat him like crap?

Bette & Jodi

Bette doesn’t want to go to Jenny’s silly party. She tries to convince Jodi to stay home with her instead, but Jodi wants to dance. So Bette does go to the party, but she can’t keep her eyes off Tina. Then she meets the woman who is playing her in Jenny’s movie and it just gets weird with the actor asking Bette all kinds of inappropriate questions. So Bette wants to leave. Jodi does not. Bette leaves, Jodi stays.

On her way out, Bette runs into Tina. Tina tells Bette that what happened was a mistake. She wants to know if Bette is in love with Jodi. There’s a bit of hesitation before Bette answers that yes she is. Makes Tina wonder, though. But clearly, if Bette is in love with Jodi, she’s in love with two people at the same time. It’s been known to happen. Some of the best lesbian love songs are written on this very topic.

The Lez Girls Party

Jenny throws a party for the Lez Girls cast. Sheer fun. Lots of Lez girls crowd into Jenny and Shane’s apartment. Pot brownies. Shots. Alice and Shane dancing on tables, lip syncing to the Jackson Five, laughing. I want to be there!

But no, what’s this? Lesbian drama! Dawn Denbo and her lover Cindy want some. They show up and try to start shit with Shane because she slept with Cindy without the courtesy of even inviting Dawn. But Shane is too wasted to even care. But look out. Dawn is not only going to ruin Shane, she’s going to ruin every one of her F**king friends. And take down the Planet. Oooh Dawn Denbo, I’m so scared.

Thankfully Dawn Denbo and her lover Cindy showing up doesn’t damper the mood. Everyone takes their clothes off and jumps into the pool. The girls are wasted. And for you straight girls watching, there’s even a gratuitous male frontal nudity shot.

Tina’s too drunk to drive, so Jodi takes her to Bette’s house to sleep on the couch. Bette can’t keep her eyes off her. This is becoming a theme.

Jenny & Nikki

Jenny and Nikki seem to be bonding. At the party they act out the scene where Marina followed Jenny into the bathroom. Acting turns to real making out. But it’s hard to find privacy during a big party, so they move to closet. The irony hasn’t escaped them either.

OMG this season is the BEST! Just when I think Bette should be w/Tina, Jodi warms my heart. Could I invite my girls ex to the house, and put her on the couch, and get her a pillow & blanket? Prolly not! She’s just good people. Shane, poor thing, she tried, she really did, but Cindy, naked, and did anyone see that ass??? Holy hell!! Who could blame her? Loved the party scenes, great. Wished we could have been there…but then there’s Alice. Alice whom has been OUT for years. Again, I’ll say it, its not OUR place to OUT someone, no matter how much of an ass they are. That was a huge no-no and it will come back to bite her, karma is a bitch! I agree, why does Max stay, when everyone seems to shit on him?? He’s right on, there is something about Adelle, my guess?? It has something to do w/ the dr. & writer from Curve. Jenny shit all over them, are they setting Jenny up for a downfall?? I don’t know about you, but I’ll stay tuned!!!

I am surprised that no one has commented about Alice’s breach of conduct. She attended a private party, signed a confidentiality agreed, and then proceeded to violate the agreement by filming the male athlete with another man. Then she “outs” this guy in the most savage way possible. Hey, so much for the nice and naive girl. She displayed a clear lack of honor, which is exactly what Tasha stands for – honor.

OMG can you say dyke drama..what the hell?? Everyone knows that Shane is a major horn dog..but she did try to get lover cindy to call dawn…poor baby. Dawn needs to get a grip!!! Max is usually very astute when it comes to smelling BS and I think Adelle is full of it. She just happens to show up at the planet, hoping that her favorite author will be there…and bam..Jenny is served up on a silver platter. I smell something fishy here…watch out Jenny!! Alice…Alice….Alice..What in the hell are you doing??? You are not and I repeat not suppose to out people that is soooooo…against the rules..no matter how big of an asshole they are. This little stunt just cost you…big time! I loved the party!!! But once again Bette is showing her bitchy side…calling the police on her best friends…how mean was that????
